I caught a glimpse of the stars one night,
out there in the woods.
A shame we couldn't see them, we'd said.
Then, suddenly, stealthily, it emerged from hiding--
a swath of late-night blue between the trees,
bedazzled with brightest white.
My summer to-do list is far too long
But I'd be content
just to sit here,
just to look up.
